The Kellogg Finance Network (KFN) Advisory and Managing Board will meet with Bill Osborn, a senior leader in the Kellogg alumni community.
About Bill Osborn:
William A. Osborn is Retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Northern Trust Corporation.
Mr. Osborn holds a B.A. degree and an M.B.A. degree from Northwestern University. He joined Northern Trust in 1970 and subsequently held leadership positions in the Commercial Banking and Personal Financial Services Business Units. He was named President and Chief Operating Officer in December 1993 and was named Chief Executive Officer, in addition to President, in June 1995. He became Chairman in October 1995 and ended his tenure as Chief Executive Officer on December 31, 2007. He retired as Chairman on November 11, 2009. He has been named twice as one of the 100 best CEOs in the world by Harvard Business Review.
Mr. Osborn is a director of Abbott Laboratories, Caterpillar Inc., and General Dynamics Corporation. He is chairman of the Board of Trustees of Northwestern University and is also a member of the Advisory Board of the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern. He serves on the Board of Directors of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. He is a director of The Chicago Council on Global Affairs. He is a former director of New Schools for Chicago and the Terra Foundation of American Art. He is past chairman of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association, the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago Inc., The Commercial Club of Chicago, and the Civic Committee of The Commercial Club of Chicago. He is a life trustee of the Chicago Botanic Garden, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association, the Chicago Urban League and the Museum of Science and Industry.
