Jerry has served as a senior advisor in Corporate Strategy at BlackRock since 2008 working with Executive Management and the Business Units, including Alternatives. Previously, he was a member of Merrill Lynch’s Executive Management Committee for 24 years and a member of its Board of Directors for 8 years. From 2002 to 2008, when he retired, he was Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch responsible for major client relationships worldwide, focusing particularly on financial institutions. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Merrill Lynch’s institutional businesses, Global Markets and Investment Banking, including managing Merrill’s private equity, PE FofF, Real Estate, Middle Market Lending and Venture Capital groups. He also served as head of Corporate Strategy with responsibility to make Merrill a global leader in Retail and Asset Management as well as Investment Banking.
He is a Trustee of Northwestern University and the Nightingale-Bamford School, an Advisory Director of the Kellogg School of Management and Yale School of Management. Jerry is also a member of the Board of Directors for Och-Ziff Capital Management and is a former Director of Freddie Mac, Invesco, the Metropolitan Opera and the Advisory Board of Stanford Business School.
Jerry received a BA in Economics from Yale University and an MBA in Finance from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
