Michael Haddad ('87)
Deputy CIO, Public and Tradable Markets - NYC Bureau of Asset Management
Michael is the Deputy CIO for Public and Tradable Markets for the Bureau of Asset Management (BAM), in the Office of the New York City Comptroller. In this role, he is responsible for public equities, public fixed income, opportunistic fixed income, hedge funds and cash trading.
Prior to joining BAM, Michael served as an Advisor to Tse Capital Management, a Portfolio Manager at Soros Fund Management and Senior Managing Director at Caxton Associates. In addition to his extensive experience in the hedge fund industry, Mr. Haddad was a proprietary trader within the fixed income division at Credit Suisse First Boston, a US Treasury trader at Morgan Stanley as well as Head of Canadian Fixed Income in their Toronto office.
For five years beginning in 2003, Michael served on the Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee, a group comprised of senior representatives from investment firms and banks that met quarterly to advise both the Board of the Federal Reserve and senior US Treasury officials on market-related issues. Additionally, he was a founding member of the Treasury Market Practices Group, a committee sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and comprised of market professionals supporting the integrity and efficiency of the US Treasury market.
He is a Trustee at St. Ann’s, an independent school in Brooklyn, a board member of the Brooklyn Historical Society, a presenter with World of Money, (a non-profit organization that teaches financial education to underserved youth), and a guest lecturer for the Asset Management Practicum program at Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from Southern Methodist University and his Masters of Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
