Eric Hanson ('79)
Co-head & Sr. Managing Director - Financial Institutions, Macquarie Capital
Eric joined Macquarie Capital (Macquarie’s investment bank) in 2010 and co-heads the Financial Institutions Group practice in the Americas and Europe as Senior Managing Director. He provides advice and counsel to many of the most prominent financial institutions on a broad range of strategic and financial matters.
Prior to joining Macquarie, Eric was a partner at Lazard where he spent 26 years, the last ten of which he led Lazard's specialty finance practice focusing on leasing and finance companies, captives and banks, with particular expertise in mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and private capital.
Eric received his BA from St. Olaf College whre he serves on the Board of Regents and received his MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management where he served as a long-time member of the Dean's Advisory Board, an Adjunct Professor and a lifetime member of their Global Advisory Board. He also has served on the Advisory Board of Roundabout Theatre Company, the nation’s most influential non-profit theatre company.
