Steve Lefkowitz founded Sagewind Capital LLC, a middle market private equity firm, in 2015. The firms’ unique expertise is built on Steve’s 30 years of private equity investing and operating experience. Sagewind Capital intends to build a concentrated portfolio of control and co-control investments in key sectors that have the potential for organic growth and can serve as platforms for substantial value creation through a buy-and-build strategy of strategic acquisitions. Steve is based in New York.
Prior to founding Sagewind Capital, Steve served 25 years managing institutional third-party capital as Co-Founder, President and COO of CI Capital Partners LLC (f/k/a Caxton-Iseman Capital LLC). CI Capital Partners is a New York-based private equity firm specializing in middle market transactions, with approximately $2 billion in assets under management.
Steve currently serves on the board of advisors of Northwestern's School of Education, the national board of The Posse Foundation, the New York board of overseers of the Hebrew Union College, the board of the Solelim Philanthropic Venture Fund, the US board of the Jewish Museum Berlin, as well as several other civic and political organizations.
Steve is a graduate of both Northwestern University and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
