CEO, Upstaged Entertainment Group
Stephan has been CEO of UpStaged Entertainment Group since 2018. Upstaged is the NCAA/ESPN of student performing arts - producing, marketing and owning student performing championships and IP at national venues across 20 genres.
Stephan has held leadership positions in private equity, investment banking and law, most recently as Head of Bus. Dev. and Public Company Coverage for Houlihan Lokey and as a Managing Director building and leading Apollo Management's Global Acquisition team sourcing domestic and international acquisitions. Most recently, he has been independently retained as the exclusive M&A advisor on several high profile, complex transactions. Stephan is based in New York, New York.
He led the NYC headquarters office of EuroConsult M&A’ investment bank representing Fortune 1,000 clients on cross-border M&A. Previously he worked at G.C. Andersen Partners, a merchant bank led by former Drexel Burnham executives, Maxcor, a boutique M&A and restructuring firm leading the firm’s divestiture transactions, in Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers financial sponsors groups and as a corporate finance attorney and General Counsel.
Stephan earned degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (B.A., Economics), Wharton (B.S., Entrepreneurship), Villanova Law School (J.D.), and Kellogg School at Northwestern University (MBA, Finance).
