Ellen Koebler ('99)
Chief Risk Officer - Commercial Banking, Wells Fargo
Ellen Koebler is Wells Fargo’s Commercial Banking, Chief Risk Officer. In this role, Ellen serves on Wells Fargo’s Management Committee and is responsible for the independent risk management function overseeing the front-line risk management of the Commercial Banking comprised of Treasury Management, Commercial Capital, and Middle Market Banking. Ellen is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2020, Ellen was the Chief Risk Officer at SunTrust Banks and subsequently the Deputy Chief Risk Officer of Truist. She was previously the EVP and Head of Consumer and Small Business Lending and Deposit products at SunTrust. She originally joined SunTrust in 2004 as Managing Director for the Corporate Investment Bank portfolio strategies team. Ellen entered the financial services industry in the investment banking division of J.P. Morgan in 2000. She began her career as a senior chemical engineer for Shell Oil in New Orleans.
Ellen earned her BS in chemical engineering from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder
